Spring Break

This past week I have been out of school for Spring Break and we have had all kinds of fun. I have been meaning to update my blog all week so I am warning you this may be a long post with a lot of pictures. I just haven't had time because we have been keeping so busy doing fun things. On Friday, the 2nd of April my sister Tiffany and her kids and my mom decided to drive down for a couple of days to spend their Spring Break here with us. That night Koby got to babysit all the children while my mom and sister took me to dinner for my birthday. We went to Texas Roadhouse and while there my mom and sister just happened to mention it was my birthday to the waitress. Next thing I knew here she came with a huge saddle for me to sit on and hollered out to everyone we have a birthday over here...and of course the attention is all on me. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind a little attention once and awhile, but I just didn't need it there...they made me climb up on the saddle and everything. Pretty embarrassing! I told them next time I was going to choose a different restaurant like Olive Garden or something where I know they won't have a saddle for my short little legs to climb onto.

Saturday we listened to General Conference and scrapbooked most of the day. We wanted to have an easter egg hunt for the kids, but Saturday of course wasn't all that beautiful for an Easter egg hunt. In fact my sister tried to take the kids down to the park here in Lewiston for the community Easter egg hunt in the snow. They got there a few minutes late and it was pretty much over. There was a nice person though who gave each of her kids an egg or two. So we decided to do the hunt in the house and have the kids find the eggs. This is all the kids waiting in Lizzie's room while we hid all the eggs. As you can see Lizzie wasn't quite sure what to do with her Easter bucket.

The kids had fun finding all the eggs in the house and eating the candy of course. My sister also brought each of the kids a fun toy. Lizzie got a bubble wand which she loves.

finding eggs and eating the chocolate!
Of course my sister just had to bring suckers for some of her prizes and she had to give Lizzie one. What a mess! She just laughed and was glad to see that I was the one dealing with the mess. Trust me she was sticky all over. We had to give her a bath when finished.
That night we decided it would be fun to take all the kids bowling. So we headed into Logan and did a game of bowling and then went for ice-cream. Mom was a great help with Lizzie and Malorie kept her busy dancing when she wasn't bowling. You can check that out on the video below. Lizzie is getting to be quite the dancer. She even says "dance" now when she wants some music turned on to dance to.
Kallie and Bryce ready to bowl.
Easter morning was a lot of fun this year. It was fun to have the Easter Bunny visit all the kids at my house. Lizzie was also fun to watch as she got into her Easter basket. The Easter Bunny left her some cute sunglasses and pajamas and of course more yummy candy. You gotta love her hair in the morning. A true "Rocker" in this picture. Here she is with her cool new glasses.
and of course loving the "CANDY"
The rest of Easter Sunday we listened to Conference and had a nice dinner. I was going to make a fun easter cake and had my niece help me. Malorie had never made a cake or iced it before. She said her mother makes it look easier than it really is. She had a hard time keeping the icing on the cake and not pulling the cake up with it. She decorated one side with sprinkles and the other like easter with jelly beans. She did a great job and it tasted great.
Monday night for Family Home Evening we colored eggs. Even though it was the day after Easter we knew it would still be fun. Here are all the kids coloring their eggs.
We even tried to get Lizzie to participate some. I mostly did the coloring, but she loved holding the eggs.
We had also gone earlier that day to the pajama outlet in Logan. Tiff had bought her kids some fun pajamas and all the girls matched. They thought that was pretty fun.
Later in the week after everyone had headed home and we had a day or two to slow down Lizzie and I went to baby animal days. We met up with some friends from Families Supporting Adoption for a playgroup. Lizzie had a lot of fun seeing all the baby animals. We even seen the Easter Bunny there and got a picture. She kept going back and wanting to climb on his lap when there were no other kids around. I believe she sat on his lap 3 times before I finally drug her out screaming and crying. That Easter Bunny was a good sport. Here she is with her friend Nathan petting the goats.
petting the baby lambsand seeing the baby calf. Even though it was as tall as she was. She finally got to pet it when it was down.
We went to see the baby ducklings and at first Lizzie grabbed for one and about strangled it by the neck so instead another little boy held it and she got to touch it. She thought that was pretty fun.
At the end we went on a little train ride. It was a fun day for both of us. Lizzie was quite exhausted and fell right to sleep as soon as I got her in the car.
On Friday, Koby decided to take the day off work and planned a little family vacation getaway to Jackson for us for my birthday. It was a nice day and the drive was pretty. We walked around the little shops and did a little shopping, had some dinner, and stayed at the Painted Buffalo Inn.
We were going to go to dinner at a great Steak place that we had gone to before. However when we went in and seen that the prices were now anywhere from $25-$30 dollars a plate we decided to choose a different place and ended up at Pizza Hut. We knew Lizzie would enjoy that for sure. She is all about dipping and sauces. As you can see by the pictures she had a great time and enjoyed every bite.
Saturday morning we took a drive to Colter Bay. It was way different to see it this time of year because the lake was frozen over and there was still lots of snow. It was still beautiful.
Lizzie really enjoyed being out of the car and walking all over. She is so light she didn't even break the snow where ever she went.
Here she is cuddling with her daddy on a picnic table buried in snow.
After visiting Colter Bay we drove over to Rexburg to visit some family and to see the newest arrival Maxwell. My brother Christopher and his wife Courtney had a baby boy about 2 weeks ago and we hadn't seen him yet. He was so cute.
Lizzie wasn't quite sure what was inside those pajamas. She was really intrigued with little Maxwell.
Sunday we spent the day relaxing at my parent's home and my mom cooked a nice dinner for all of the family. While we were all there my mom decided that she would take a picture of all the grandkids. My parents currently have 11 grandkids at this point with 2 more baby girls on the way to be born this summer. Our family is really growing fast. It is so fun to have such wonderful family. On the way back to Logan we also stopped to see Koby's brother Hal and his new home in Rigby they just moved into and to also see baby London that was born about a month ago. They have a beautiful home and such a cute family and it will be so fun to have them living closer.
Spring break was a lot of fun and I enjoyed every minute of it. I didn't let a moment of any day slip by without having something fun to do.
Thanks to all the family and friends that we spent it with.
Here are some of the fun videos we took over Spring Break.

It was a fun time and I'm glad that you got to spend the night. You were very busy and now you probably need a vacation to catch up.

Linds - it took 2 afternoons of nap time for Lizzie for me to post all of that. But I wanted to put it on here so that I could remember what we did.
