Wisconsin

I guess you could say we are happy to be home from our trip to Wisconsin. Koby and I headed out there just over a week ago for a final nursing exam for Koby to get his nursing degree. Lizzie stayed with Grandma and Grandpa and some of the aunts, uncles, and cousins. It didn't quite turn out the way we were hoping, but we are very proud of Koby for putting forth his best effort and giving it all he had. It is a very hard test and difficult to pass. While out in Wisconsin we decided to make the best of the trip and go do some sight seeing. We enjoyed driving along Lake Michigan and seeing different light houses. Or maybe enjoyed driving is not the right words I should use. The roads in Wisconsin are horrible! Everywhere you go it is under construction and you are detoured all over the place. Talk about stressful, but the lighthouses were enjoyable. Next time we will just have to make sure and get a GPS in the rental car. We did have the opportunity to go up inside one of the lighthouses in the town of Kenosha. Pretty much a lot of narrow stairs that just wind up to the top and then you are there. The sight from the top was fun to see. The lake was very beautiful.

This is inside the lighthouse. While in Milwaukee, we had to of course check out the Harley Davidson Museum. This is where the factory is so when you have a husband that likes motorcycles you can't pass up this opportunity of a lifetime. Koby literally studied each bike over from the beginning to the end. There were definitely some unique bikes. This one was covered in jewels. Everyone has their own style I guess.At the end of the museum we got to sit on some of the bikes.

We also decided since we were fairly close to Chicago we might as well go see something there to say that we had been there. We were glad to finally GET there once we finally figured out how to take the Metra system so that we didn't have to drive into Chicago and find parking, etc. We only had enough time to go to Millenium Park and see some of the sights and then we walked down towards Navy Pier but didn't have enough time to do much because we had to catch the Metra back. It was quite a new experience for some of us. And talk about humidity! Both Koby and I were beaded with sweat by the time we were back to the Metra. And then of all things we find out our train was delayed an hour behind so we had to wait in the train station. Next time we go to Chicago we are going to take my brother in law Rob who served his mission there and knows the area really well. We had to call him and ask him all kinds of questions to know what to do, what to see, and where we were going. Thanks Rob! Atleast we can say we have been to CHICAGO!
