Summer Days

We have been having lots of fun this summer. Over the past couple of weeks we took a day and went to feed the ducks at First Dam. Lizzie absolutely loves the ducks. She would throw them some bread and then take a bite for herself. Then she would just laugh and holler duck, duck, duck. There were even some little ducklings that were so cute. That same day we had planned to have a picnic there at the park, but when we were finished feeding the ducks it decided to rain. IMAGINE THAT! This has been a wet summer so far so I wasn't one bit surprised. Lizzie and I ended up climbing in the back of the car and having our own little picnic. She thought that was pretty funny, too. I guess you just improvise and try to do whatever you can to still make it fun. We didn't want our picnic food to go to waste right?
Something else we enjoy doing when summer rolls around is going fishing with Koby. He took us on free fishing day in Idaho and we had a lot of fun catching little trout. Lizzie would touch the fish and make a silly face and then laugh.
We had decided that it would be fun to get out the tent and try to sleep under the stars one night. It was somewhat of a decent night and warmer than most of what we had previously had. Lizzie wasn't sure what to think of sleeping outside. She was mostly fascinated in the flashlight and wanted to jump around inside the tent. After awhile of singing some songs she finally calmed down enough to fall asleep. By around 5:30 in the morning we were all inside our own beds in the house. It was worth a try and a fun idea. It just ended up getting a little cold and when you are in your own yard it is so convenient to just walk inside and get in your own bed.
