FHE carving pumpkins

For family home evening last week we got together with some of our neighbors, friends, and family and had a great time eating chili, breadsticks, juice, and pumpkin cake followed by an entertaining time carving and painting pumpkins. The party started off at our place outside, but ended at the Ashton's home because they had more room inside for us and it got too dark before we were finished. Ruth had a fun table for the little ones to paint on and aprons for them to wear so they didn't get paint on their clothes. She also gave them a sucker which the kids loved. It was just hard for them to remember to lick the sucker and use the paint brush in the other hand for the painting. This took lots of parent supervision trust me! But we all had a great time!
What a little face puller!
The adults and older kids on the other hand they got right into the slimy mucky mess of carving. Fun was had by all.

I just love this time of year with the holidays! Sorry I didn't get a picture of the final product of everyone's pumpkin but they all looked just fabulous.

Looks like Lizzie will be quite the artist. She looks like a professional the way she holds her brush! Halloween is fun to enjoy painting and carving pumpkins! that is fun that Christopher and Courtney live close and can do stuff with you guys!

Looks like you all had a great time. We put our pumpkins by the cornstocks outside with no carving or paint. I guess we are passed that stage of life. Happy Halloween to all !!!!
