Carving with Grandma

In October one Sunday afternoon we drove up to Grace to visit Grandma and to carve some pumpkins before Halloween. The drive up was so beautiful. In all my years of being married to Koby and driving to Grace I don't recall the leaves being so full and vibrant with color. The mountains were spotted with red, yellow, and orange. It was definitely breath taking. Even my mother in law said it was one of the prettiest years she has seen this fall. It could have been because it was so late before we really got the cold air of fall. So all the leaves changed at once.Grandma fixed us some soup and bread for lunch. Then we got right into the carving. Lizzie just loves our neighbor Hanna. So we took her with us so she could carve pumpkins, too. These two just have too much fun together!Lizzie likes cleaning out all the "guts" of the pumpkin. I don't think our pumpkins turned out too bad for our first carving of the season.
